In 1983, three young and enterprising Guyanese entrepreneurs—John La Rose, Terrence Pariaug, and Glen Khan—recognized a vital need within Caribbean communities living abroad: a dependable way to send goods, supplies, and gifts back home to their families.
From this vision, LAPARKAN was born—an acronym derived from the founders’ last names. The first office opened in Toronto, Canada, in the summer of 1983. Word quickly spread across the Caribbean diaspora in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, leading to rapid growth.
Through dedication, hard work, and a clear mission, Laparkan expanded its operations to Guyana, New York, Miami, the United Kingdom, and later Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, and Barbados—becoming a trusted bridge between overseas communities and their homelands.

To remain a leading shipping and logistics partner for Caribbean communities worldwide, recognized for reliability, efficiency, and a deep understanding of our customers’ needs—while continuing to expand our reach and service excellence.
